2026 Southport EC. Pohl & Co Pro-Am Results
Thank you to all members and guests who participated in the 2026 Southport EC. Pohl & Co Pro-Am.
We were greeted with fantastic conditions throughout the day, and the course was presented in spectacular condition. Congratulations to all of the amateur winners, and thank you to everyone who contributed to another successful event. Full results can be viewed via the links below.
The professionals who participated provided overwhelmingly positive feedback about both Southport Golf Club and the Pro-Am experience. A total of 58 professionals competed on the day, with a further 64 reserve players, an outstanding endorsement of the event’s reputation.
Taking out the professional title was former champion and prolific adidas PGA Pro-Am Series winner Brett Rankin, who carded an impressive 5-under-par 66 in the afternoon field. Rankin finished ahead of morning leader Sam Slater, who posted a 4-under-par 67. Max Ford, Nathan Barbieri, and Jay Mackenzie rounded out the top five, each finishing with 3-under-par 68.
Thank you once again to all players, sponsors, volunteers, and staff who helped make the 2026 Southport EC. Pohl & Co Pro-Am such a memorable success.
2026 Southport Gold Coast Open
Southport Golf Club welcomed a strong field for the 2026 Women’s Amateur Open on Sunday, with outstanding scoring and several divisions decided on countback after highly competitive play.
Leading the way was Summer Sadler (Burleigh Golf Club), who claimed the prestigious Southport Amateur Open Champion (Gross) title with an excellent round of 75.
In Division 1 (0-10 Handicap Nett), home club member Alisia Garcia produced a superb nett 75 to secure the championship, while fellow Southport member and previous General Manager Bernadette Lance finished runner-up on 76 countback.
The closest finish of the day came in Division 2 (11-22 Handicap Nett), where Kylie Heaslip (Surfers Paradise Golf Club) and Judy Wood (Southport Golf Club) both returned impressive nett 69s. Heaslip claimed the division title on countback, with Wood narrowly missing out on countback.
In Division 3 (23-32 Handicap Nett), another countback was required after Jennifer McDonald (Southport Golf Club) and Barb Callan (Emerald Lakes Golf Club) both posted nett 69. McDonald was awarded the championship on countback, with Callan finishing runner-up.
Southport Golf Club congratulates all winners and participants and thanks the visiting clubs and sponsors for supporting another successful Women’s Amateur Open. The high standard of golf and closely contested results highlighted the strength of women’s golf across the Gold Coast region.
2026 Southport Gold Coast Open
We had a fantastic turnout of 128 players in this years Gold Coast Open. With talented women, men and juniors from around South East Queensland, Southport GC was filled with great golf over the 36 hole competition.
Special congratulations to our women’s and men’s champions of Allegra De Guzman (74, 71 [+1]), and Ben Adams (65, 68 [-9]). They demonstrated outstanding golf over the 36 holes, with a packed leaderboard and many chasing them for the win.Â
Well done to the many others who walked away with prizes, and we look forward to welcome those of you returning next year along with some new faces.
2025 Southport Junior Classic

What a day! With 116 talented juniors from across the Gold Coast and Brisbane, the course was buzzing with future golf stars of all ages!
This event was also a qualifier for the Greg Norman Junior Masters, raising the stakes and the excitement.
A huge congratulations to Yutaro Matsushita, Southport member, who etched his name on the trophy with an incredible 3-under-par 68 to take the win.
 Well done to everyone who played — the future of Aussie golf is looking bright.
Jack Munro Triumphs at the 2025 Southport EC. Pohl & Co Pro-Am
On Friday, 8 August 2025, Southport Golf Club proudly hosted the 2025 Southport EC. Pohl & Co Pro-Am, a highlight of our golfing calendar that once again delivered an exciting day of competition, camaraderie, and community.
The tournament featured dual shotgun starts at 6:45 am and 12:00 pm, with players enjoying a full day of golf, premium catering, and refreshments. Each field concluded with presentations hosted by PGA Professional Garrett Skinner.
A major spectacle was the Professional Shootout, proudly sponsored by Thiele Partners Accountants. From the clubhouse balcony, members and guests were treated to a thrilling contest as professionals aimed for the 18th green from the 1st tee, chasing the Shootout Champion title.
Queensland’s Jack Munro claimed the title with a flawless, bogey-free 6-under-par 65. His round included an eagle and four birdies, sealing a commanding two-shot victory.
In second place, Steven Jeffress (QLD) and Cam John (VIC) both finished at 4-under-par, while a strong group of competitors including Cory Crawford shared fourth place at 3-under-par.
Munro’s round was highlighted by a brilliant eagle on the par-5 1st, followed by back-to-back birdies on holes 7 and 8, securing the momentum that carried him to victory.
Munro now turns his focus to the 2025/26 Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia season, beginning with the PNG Open in Port Moresby and the NT PGA Championship in Palmerston. Building on his Southport win, he’ll be striving to climb higher than last season’s 36th place finish on the Order of Merit.

Join us on Monday 23rd December 2024 and participate in the ultimate golf endurance challenge. It is designed to test your skill, strength and stamina to successfully complete four rounds of golf from dawn to dusk and raise funds for Cancer Council’s research, prevention and support services.

Intervals between times are 3hr 15mins to enable the opportunity to get 72 holes played. This means 3hr rounds!

Australian Interstate Teams Matches Â
The Club was very fortunate to have won the right to be the host club for the Australian Interstate Series held May 6, 7 and 8, 2024.
The Interstate series run by Golf Australia is a significant golf event that brings together top amateur players from all states in a matchplay format with mixed teams of women and men.
Previous years it served as an integral platform for the likes of Adam Scott, Jason Day and Cameron Smith. These players competed in this series and they all went on to be not only champions but major winners. Our junior member and recent winner of the Australian Junior Championship, Shyla Singh will be competing for Queensland.
The club was very honoured to be the host club and to continue to grow the game of golf and we hope to be able to host future tournaments of the coming years.
