What inspired you to start playing golf and from what age did you start?

I started playing golf when I was 10 years old after my dad took me to watch the Presidents Cup at Royal Melbourne in December 2019. That experience sparked my interest in the game, and that same Christmas I received my first set of golf clubs. From the moment I started playing, I was hooked. I loved the feeling of striking the ball perfectly and watching it fly exactly how I imagined.

The challenge of golf was something I had never encountered and the fact that there was always something I could improve made kept my interest. What began as a new hobby quickly became a passion, and as I started playing more regularly and competing in tournaments, I became determined to see how far I could take the game.

Why did you choose to become a Member at Southport Golf Club?

What first stood out to me about Southport was how welcoming the club was to juniors, especially through Ben Campbell; who became my coach and is still my coach to this day. I was also drawn to the course because it is short and tight, which really tests your short game and course management, and has helped me develop those areas of my game. I wanted to be part of a club with a strong membership, history and tradition, and Southport felt like a place where I could see myself growing, improving and striving to become the best player I could be.

What is your GA Handicap?

My handicap is 0.5

1. Shooting under par for the first time when I was 14

Who is your favourite player and why?

My favourite player is Adam Scott, not only because of his textbook swing, but also because of his professionalism and the way he carries himself on the course. I really admire how calm and composed he stays, whether he is playing well or facing a difficult moment. That’s how I want to carry myself as a player – staying positive, showing respect for the game and those around me, and letting the way I play and behave speak for itself.
